Bye-bye September…

Hello October! Fall is here proper, and Thanksgiving long weekend is upon us, along with with Rivalry Week. Life is pretty swell… to be a Wolverine!

During September, UMACT held a few events that brought out the usual attendees as well as some new arrivals and visitors in the GTA.

9/12 We had some great discussions during our quarterly Dinner Club where we welcomed a recent Ross alumnus (Wendy Xu) to the area. Many stories were told and memories shared. Topics of discussion ranged from recent geopolitical tensions to the influx of American university educated talent into Canada. We look forward to hosting the next Dinner in December.

9/16 The Frog in North York is quickly becoming the de-facto Michigan Football HQ.  It hosted this season’s first watch party VS. Air Force.  We had a couple of visitors join us from Ann Arbor, and Dan Main drove in from Barrie to witness the win.

9/16 David Argyle generously offered UMACT members and family complimentary tickets to the Toronto Wolfpack’s final playoff game of the season.  Numerous members took him up on the offer and enjoyed an exciting evening of RFL (English Rugby Football League) rugby!

As the long weekend approaches, we wish you and yours a most enjoyable Thanksgiving.  While we reflect on and celebrate our good fortunes, please do not forget those less fortunate in our communities and consider joining us on October 14 as members of UMACT will be serving dinner to the residents of The Gateway at 107 Jarvis Street.

One more thing – come join us on Saturday, October 7, to watch Michigan Football host our “Little brother” (MSU) at the Big House under the lights!
